Scope: Complete Home Renovation – Kitchen, Laundry, Flooring, Painting (Project 1305 – Bathroom, Ensuite)

Brief: The brief began with wanting to update the kitchen to include a butler’s pantry and a large island bench for entertaining. Visually the clients wanted a modern but still timeless kitchen to match in with the style of the house. They wanted to use neutral colours without everything being white.

Our solution was to remove the existing walls between the kitchen and laundry, and rotate the wall to create a horizontal divide. This structural change created an open kitchen plan, with feature joinery and a large island at the front. The joinery continues down the side wall and around to create a hidden pantry and laundry space. Sanded and polished original floorboards create the perfect surface for the addition of neutral colours. Keeping the existing windows and adding a new door with window to the exterior created more natural light to fill the spaces.

Visually the space is a perfect addition to the home, with a collection of individual features that together create a beautiful harmony.
