Brief: The brief began with the clients wanting to update their kitchen to create a space for entertaining. Visually they were looking to create a sleek, modern kitchen with dark, light and warm features. They also wanted to sand and stain the floors to create a lighter base for the room.
We decided to design the kitchen with a large island that also has bench seating and dining table seating. The design creates a large feature through the marble stone for the benchtops and the warm blackbutt timber to create the feature bench. We wanted to create a design that had both bench seating and dining table seating.
The smoky mirror splashback creates the perfect addition to this moody, sleek kitchen. It matches the colour tones of the darker cabinetry, and also reflects the bright marble benchtop. It bounces the natural light from the windows around the space so the dark cabinetry isn’t overwhelming.
The brass taps and handles carry a warmer tone throughout the cabinetry, a compliments the benchtop and timber.
